Is my submission kept confidential?

Absolutely. Everything you share with us — your business name, financials, and reasons for selling — is treated with complete discretion. We never list your business publicly, and we never share your details with third parties, competitors, or anyone outside our team.

Question 2

Will my staff or customers find out I'm considering selling?

Accepted Answer

Not through us. Unlike a broker listing, your business never appears on any marketplace or public platform. We work directly and privately with you throughout the entire process.

Question 3

Do I need to sign anything before we talk?

Accepted Answer

No. You can submit your business and have an initial conversation with us without signing anything. If we progress to due diligence, we'll put a mutual NDA in place — but there's no paperwork required just to start a conversation.

Question 4

How do you value a business?

Accepted Answer

We look at a combination of factors: annual revenue, profitability (EBITDA), assets, customer base, growth trajectory, and market position. We use standard valuation methodologies and walk you through our reasoning so you understand exactly how we arrived at our number.

Will you lowball me?

Accepted Answer

No. We make offers that reflect genuine value. Lowballing wastes everyone's time and isn't how we operate. If we can't make a fair offer — because the numbers don't support it — we'll tell you honestly rather than insult you with a figure that doesn't reflect what you've built.

What if I don't agree with your valuation?

We're open to discussion. If you believe our valuation doesn't reflect something important about your business, tell us. We'll listen, review the information, and explain our position. We'd rather have a frank conversation than lose a deal over a misunderstanding.

Question 7

Is the offer binding?

Accepted Answer

Our initial offer is a letter of intent — it sets out the proposed terms but is subject to due diligence. Once due diligence is complete and both parties are satisfied, we move to a binding sale agreement.

How long does the process take?

From your initial submission to a signed agreement typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the business and how quickly we can complete due diligence. We don't drag things out — we move at a pace that works for you.

What happens after I submit my business?

We review your submission personally and respond within 2 business days. If there's a potential fit, we'll reach out to arrange an initial call. From there, we'll request financials, conduct our assessment, and — if everything stacks up — present a written offer.

Do I need a broker or lawyer?

You don't need a broker — we work directly with you. We do recommend having your own lawyer review the final sale agreement before you sign. You're also welcome to involve a financial advisor or accountant at any stage.

What does the handover look like?

We work with you to plan a handover that suits your business and your timeline. That includes transitioning relationships with key staff, customers, and suppliers. We're not interested in a rushed exit — we want the business to continue thriving after the sale.

What types of businesses do you acquire?

We focus on South African SMEs across a range of industries — retail, services, manufacturing, food and beverage, technology, construction, healthcare, and more. The key criteria are that the business has a track record, a customer base, and is generating revenue.

Question 13

Do you buy struggling businesses?

We primarily acquire profitable and semi-profitable businesses. If your business is currently loss-making, it's unlikely to be a fit — but we're happy to have a conversation. Sometimes there are circumstances that explain a temporary dip, and we're willing to listen.

Question 14

What's the minimum revenue you consider?

We don't have a hard minimum, but businesses generating under R500k per year are generally outside our acquisition criteria. If you're unsure, submit anyway — we review every submission on its own merits.
